Android

Android is an open source mobile operating system designed for use with touchscreen devices such as smartphones and tablets. An icon of a robot has become synonymous with the operating system. Its first official logo, designed by Google, mimicked the human outline used in bathroom signs and replaced the human head with a larger more robot-like one with antennas. The use of the human-like robot icon refers to the definition of the word android as a humanoid robot or organism designed to imitate human movement or form.
