Uzbekistan

The flag of Uzbekistan is made up of three horizontal bands in blue, white and green, which have numerous connotations, including peace, purity, nature, and Islam. It features an Islamic crescent, and twelve white stars on the upper left side of the blue band which represent the months of the year and are arranged in such a way as to visually represent ‘Allah’ in Arabic script. The flag was adopted in 1991 to replace the former Soviet flag.
