Exclamation Mark

An exclamation mark or exclamation point is used to emphasise a precautionary statement or, alone, to signal danger or the possibility of the unexpected. It is believed to originate from a combination of the letters ‘i’ and ‘o’, in the Latin word for ‘joy’.
