Kazakhstan

The flag of Kazakhstan contains a gold sun with thirty two rays above a golden steppe eagle, historically used on the flags of Kazakh tribes to symbolise freedom and power. The national ornamental pattern, the “koshkar-muiz” or ram’s horns, is displayed in gold. The symbols are set against a blue field, a colour of religious and cultural significance to the Turkic peoples.
